Every season Orla Kiely tells a story and takes us on a journey. In recent years we’ve been to a 60s typing pool, a rain soaked London street, an African Safari and a magical garden full of giant daisies.
This season Orla Kiely went back to school. It was a familiar and nostalgic look for for me, as the presentation set looked rather like my university campus which was built in the 70s. Unfortunately I was never as stylishly dressed the models perusing the library.
The collection included cosy knits in block colours and lots of texture. A yellow two piece suit was the colour of baby chicks, and looked just as fluffy. Prints were inspired by geometry, with graph paper checks and repeats of overlapping triangles and circles.
The shoes were the part of the collection most accessible to budget conscious Orla fans, as Orla Kiely has once again teamed up with Clarks to create a range of supremely desirable footwear. The collection includes a range of flats, boots and platform heels in gold glitter, patent leather and mock croc.
A big thank you to Orla Kiely and The Wolves for inviting me.
