After the success of the Lewis Carol inspired exhibition, Curious and Curiouser, The Drawn Chorus’ has put on a second exhibition, this time inspired by the circus. The Greatest Show on Earth finds inspiration in representations of the circus in literature, from Angela Carter to Dr. Seuss. For the exhibition I produced my series of Circus Lady prints, as well a piece illustrating a scene from Angela Carter’s Nights at the Circus.
The show is up for a week at the Gallery on the Corner in Battersea (see website for full details) and includes work by a host of talented illustrators, as well as a pop up shop. You can buy postcards, prints, even temporary tattoos!
Here’s some of my favourite pieces from the show:
Nadine’s sullen circus animal are just amazing!
Eileen Kai Hing Kwan’s pencil work is just stunning!
Octavia Austin was also inspired by Nights at the Circus, and charts the journey through Siberia with this hand embroidered etching.

More excellent black and white work from Ben Hendy.
