I love an excuse to get all dressed up and I love the 1920s, so going to see my boyfriend play in the stage band at Bugsy Malone at the Troxy was a no brainer. The Future Cinema put on an amazing month long Bugsy Malone live cinema event at the Troxy, and this was the last night. The scene was perfectly set as dolled up dames and dapper gents crowded the back streets, waiting to be let in.
hat – clothes swap, fur collar – vintage, sparkly dress – river island, coat – h&m, handbag – vintage (1920s)
Rather like a speakeasy, my look was demure and unassuming on the outside and rather racy and sparkly underneath.
After being let though the facade of a bookshop, we entered the world of Fat Sam’s Grand Slam. Aside from the ever-present iphones, it was like stepping back in time. Everyone looked amazing, and the venue was perfect. I started the night with a G&T and then moved onto an ice cream float, popcorn and penny sweets (that sure cost a lot more than a penny).
There was live music, dancing, comedy and a lot of audience interaction, before the film even started.
