New Shoes

It's been a while since I've painted a pair of converse, but I really do love it for some reason. I painted these for the lovely Examorata. She hasn't even got them yet but I couldn't resist sharing the pictures.

  1. Alas, I love them already and they haven’t even arrived, but I’m sure you could commission your own pair! =)

  2. [this is good] I adore those so so much. Ex will be the cutest ever while wearing them.

I was just telling Kat the other day that I’d like to paint something on my navy blue ones. I mean, I can’t paint like you, but figured I could manage a stencil or something. And now I am freshly inspired. She pointed out I should learn what kind of paint you use; is it a fabric paint?

  3. Thank you!
I just use acrylic paint and it works pretty well. The cupcakes on my shoes have lasted better than the shoes (the rubber’s starting to crack). There’s a bit of a knack to it, you have to water the paint down enough that it soaks into the fabric but not so much that it bleeds.White is the easiest colour to paint on because you just need one coat, with navy you might need to build up a few coats. Make sure you use nice slow brush strokes and make sure to work it into the fabric.
    Good luck! πŸ™‚
